    VIOLIN TAILPIECE WITH FINE TUNERS

Produced from synthetic materials, this violin tailpiece with integral fine-tuners is a great adjunct to the aging Casperi pegs on my 1961 E.H.Roth violin. I installed it early summer 2010, and have used it with great pleasure since then. For all but the most discerning ebony purists, I highly recommend this excellent, light-weight, and reasonably-priced violin tailpiece with all four fine tuners built into it. This item is additionally furnished with a good-quality threaded nylon gut and two brass nuts. This testimonial is freely provided for the benefit of my fellow musicians.Wayne WarmackInstitute for Music Worship & The Arts, Bella Vista ARArkansas Philharmonic, Bentonville ArkansasFort Smith Symphony Orchestra(AR) 5/5 WayneWarmack - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Good buy, worth it!

I'd rate myself as an intermediate-level violinist. I started playing violin eighteen years ago, but I really only have about 3-4 years experience. I'm actually a professional audio technician, by trade. I acquired an older violin with a loop-E string adjustment and no other adjustment, besides the pegs. With the crazy temperature and humidity changes of the location that I live, it's difficult to moderate. With this purchase, I also got peg drops. I've never used them before, but I'm convinced within a day of ownership that these were good buys! I don't have to specify "Loop E" when I buy new strings.Despite what others may say, I believe this is of good quality material, and looks good with the ebony scheme of parts on a violin. Just a tip, when installing, loosen your higher strings first and work down. You could put too much stress on a string and pop it! (Benefit from my mistake!!)I'm VERY happy to be able to fine-tune all my strings now! 5/5 Henry Deacon "teknikool" (Harleysville, PA USA) - See all my reviews, March 11, 2011

    Works well

I purchased this tailpiece for a violin that I made. Being a beginning violin student it is a great help to have fine tuners on all strings. So far it seems to work well, stays in tune, etc. 5/5 John M. Keener (Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews, April 4, 2010

    Amazing Wittner!

This product was exactly what I was searching for online to replace my old wittner that broke on my violin. My old wittner was not as good quality as this wittner that I've purchase. I was hesitant at first to purchase a random wittner online but then decided to take a chance, turn out I am very satisfied with this product. Very high quality. Good Quality but too Short for My Violin

I expected it to be longer. The cord itself is not long enough to hold my tailpiece above the violin. I had to use drastic measures of loosening the screws on the cord to its maximum length to be able to set the tailpiece horizontal to my violin. All in all, I believe it is a little overpriced. 3/5 Han - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I bought these to add to a violin, but they definitely work better than one of the tuners that was on the violin, and they work better than others, so in my experience (I bought two) they seem fine. 5/5 G. Jones (Corvallis, OR, USA) - See all my reviews, March 4, 2011

    For Beginners Only

Super Sensitive Violin Rosin Light is as cheap as they come, to put it lightly. When one rents a violin or a viola from a music store, this is typically the rosin they'll give you with your case. Why? It's affordable. As a more experienced violinist, I'm quick to disparage the use of this rosin. It is low quality, and the bare minimum of what rosin should accomplish. Rosin is an important aspect of playing the violin, as different quality rosins will alter the sound and ease of play. That being said, however, if you are looking to buy rosin for your beginning violinist, there's no harm in beginning with this rosin. I spent my first two years as a violinist with it. When one can only play twinkle twinkle in a slightly off register, it's more important to worry about firmly grasping the basics of violin technique than the quality of ones rosin.Additionally, if we're talking about children, whose to say whether they will stick with the violin for very... 3/5 brandon (green bay, wi, usa) - See all my reviews This review is from: Super Sensitive Light Violin Rosin (Electronics) Super Sensitive Violin Rosin Light is as cheap as they come, to put it lightly. way better than what was included with my violin

I am a complete newby when it comes to the violin. I purchased a violin online on a whim, that because it was so inexpensive if I give up well, at least I have something pretty to look at. With that in mind, my cheap violin came with even cheaper worthless rosin. It was hard as a rock, and I had to score the crap out of it just to get dust to go on my bow, and it would play for just a few strokes, then I had to vigorously reapply. I found this rosin at a music store and bought it. One easy application and I was FINALY making real violin noises. So for a newby that doesn't know all the details yet, this saved me. If it weren't for this rosin I might have just completely given up. I definately recommend to anybody who is a beginer. 5/5 A. Nelson (utah) - See all my reviews, March 30, 2007

    Works very well

I am a beginner violinist and I recently bought my first violin. The rosin that was included with my violin purchase is of very poor quality. Thankfully, I had decided to order this rosin from amazon also as a precaution. It works much better than what was shipped with my violin and not much has to be applied in order for the bow to grasp the strings. It's also very inexpensive. You really can't beat the price. I'm sure it's probably worthwhile to purchase an even higher grade rosin if you're an advanced violinist, but for anyone at the beginner or intermediate stage, this will work very well. 5/5 Jesse - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) not more than you pay for

The bridges with notches for the strings are worth the extra money. These bridges need to be shaped and grooved to be used on a 4/4 size violin. There is enough wood to do that but it is not a beginner project. These seem to be for a bigger instrument than adversized. 3/5 John Scott Kiphart - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Not as advertised! Too big & thick to use!!

Great seller. Poor product. These bridges are unusable as they are. You must know what you are doing to cut them down. I am not an experienced woodsman who can do that. You also have to have a special tool to do it. Headline for this product should have said "UNFINISHED" instead of misleading people. I threw these away and begrudgingly went down and spent alot more money for a real bridge. Beware: Seller will email you to death if you leave anything but a 5 star rating. I will not buy from them again! I do not want a refund! I want you to stop ripping people off! great repertoire!

If your child is beginning violin these books and cds may well be part of the curicculum. I'm a bit older and decided to teach myself violin after dabbling a little with fiddle music. The first 3 books of this series really give you a great foundation and contain some great pieces to play. They are challanging enough but it's at book 4 that things start to get more intermediate with the Bach double concerto for instance. Don't get me wrong though because in the first 3 books there is really a wealth of great materialincluding several Bach pieces, Dvorak's Humoresque and many more familiar works. Of course you will definetly want and need to get the cds that accompany each book and as well as each piece with the piano accompanyment they also contain the accompanyment alone so you can practice the violin along with just that. I see amazon is charging list price as does almost everyone else, music stores etc. Shar Music, which deals only in violins, violas, cellos and related... 5/5 jed clampett "michael mclaughlin" (Novato Ca. The one, the only and still the greatest

To the parents of children undertaking the violin, be advised. The detractors that have reservations about the Suzuki method/book are missing two basic facts a) your child will learn how to play the violin (beautifully with some effort), and b) that this is really the only method that directly addresses the daunting task of teaching a string instrument to a child with pre-reading or early reading skills. Like it or not, agree with it or not, this is the method that your teacher will more probably than not adopt. It really does work; I have seen a string orchestra, taught by Suzuki, performing the Bach Concerto for 2 Violins in which none of the performers was over 12. Lest you read other reviews and be tempted to pass on Suzuki for some more "conventional" method, give this book and a good teacher a try, and be amazed at the skills that your child displays. 5/5 John Tilelli MD "Bookaholic" (Apopka, FL USA) - See all my reviews, May 12, 2003

    very good

I like this new version of Suzuki violin book 1. It's more cluttered looking with the extra text which makes it a little harder to read the notes than the old version, but it does give the new student useful info. Of course, there is nothing like having a teacher help you refine the skills explained in the book.I also like the ABCs of Violin books and DVDs. Many of my Suzuki colleagues and I think the ABCs of Violin and Viola books are excellent as reading supplements, but we begin adult students in the ABCs of Violin and Viola books which are more appropriate for that age group than the suzuki books. 5/5 violinmike (Maine) - See all my reviews This review is from: Suzuki Violin School Volume 1 - Revised Edition (Book & CD) (Suzuki Violin School, Violin Part) (Sheet music) I like this new version of Suzuki violin book 1.
