  Great value

  Having been a professional musician for 10 years I was a bit worried about purchasing such a cheap case. When it arrived I was delighted. It is well designed, incredibly light and feels as though it will protect the instrument effectively.My viola is a very wide 16.5 inches and it fit like a glove. My Kun shoulder rest has to be dismantled and stored in the music compartment but this is a small price to pay for having such a light case. This case is perfect if you travel a lot. Style -wise it is a bit on the basic side but I would personally rather save my back, shoulders etc with a light case. Also, the zip on the music compartment seems a little breakable should you pack this too full. Altogether, it is pretty great value. 4/5 A. Smart "AK" - See all my reviews, July 27, 2009

  This case took me by surprise.I ordered it, because it seemed pretty cheap, and my old one was a wreck.It came pretty fast, and it's super lightweight.I couldn't fit my tuner and stuff inside the case, but the pocket outside was pretty good.To me, it seems a little bulky, its super light when you carry it.The zipper bothers me a little, but its not so bad...I'll be sure to order this again. 4/5 Jenny - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)   Great case for the price. I saw cases at the music store for 100 bucks, and this is just as good.   Good for the price

  I was looking for something better than the case I had, and I found it. I was pleased with the roomy pocket for music, the ability to hold four bows, and the large area for my shoulder rest, rosin, and tuner box. I have a 16 inch viola, and the fitted part was a little big for that, but I made a foam piece that fit around the bottom and it fits perfectly that way. The case is also light and easy to carry around. I'd highly recommend this case for the student or adult amateur player who is looking for an economical case that has some features of the more expensive cases.One thing that I had a problem with was the shoulder strap-they include two straps, and I couldn't figure out how in the world they were supposed to work as a shoulder strap. So I used one from a piece of luggage I had and it worked great. Other than that, this case has been perfect! 4/5 C.   A Very Nice Case

  When I bought this case (about a year ago+) I was looking for a case that was lite, inexpensive, well made and could hold my experimental odd shaped balsa violin with its trappings. This violin is larger than a standard violin so I tried this viola case. It arrived on time, and is an excellent quality case. With the addition of a velvet covered foam insert to position the violin properly, this case works perfectly for my needs. After a year, the case is still in great condition and has protected my fragile balsa violin very well.   A real find

  I have a 17" viola that is very heavy - and I have been looking for a really light case for it. I found that almost all the light cases would not accomodate an instrument beyond 16-1/2" - and at that they were quite expensive.When I ordered the "Lightec" viola case, listed at a very low 4.2 lbs., and at under $100, I really expected pretty much a piece of junk, but figured that the low weight would make up for other disadvantages. However ... I was pleasantly surprised to receive a handsome, well designed case, with all the trimmings and well put together. Perhaps it is not strong enough to protect the viola from being run over by a bus, but then I really don't expect to try it.My large viola fits snugly and the low weight is a terrific help for a very senior citizen like myself. 5/5 Hanns M.   Sturdy, weatherproof viola case

  We shopped and evaluated many different viola cases before deciding on this one for a high school/college player. The suspension system in the case protects the instrument, and the velcro tabs on the velvet blanket are a nice feature to minimize chances of misplacing it when many instruments and cases are around. There is a velcro tab to store the shoulder rest underneath the neck of the instrument, and accessories like rosin fit in the spring hinged storage compartment. Great exterior storage space for music. While the case is surrounded by a weather resistant material, if you happened to get caught in a torrential downpour, there is a "rainjacket" tucked in an outside storage pocket to pull over the instrument case for extra protection.   Sweet case!...dimensions a bit off

  First off, I didn't order the case for a viola. I bought it to carry my bagpipes in the never ending search for good case that is the right size and quality. When it got here it was a bit smaller than the stated dimensions. It's length is 29in. not 31in. First impression is it is top quality and first rate craftsmanship! (Sorry highland pipe companies...your stuff is garbage) The outer material feels sturdy and durable covering a lightweight ridged frame for good protection. The outer music pocket is really helpful too. The clasps for the shoulder strap are metal and again built very nicely while the rings that attach the strap to the case are sewn on and secured tightly. The top of the case is slightly curved which is very helpful so the instrument isn't crushed inside when closed. Inside I removed the adjustable suspension padding to fit the pipes (comes out easily with no tools). If you need to carry a lot of crap in your case...this one isn't for you.   Definitely worth the money, but I also had to cut off part of the adjustable piece to fit my viola (allegedly 16.5 inches, and the back measures about that) into it. It's very nice otherwise. The red velvet is beautiful and it's got a nice brass hygrometer, plenty of room for a tuning fork, rosin, spare strings, a collapsable shoulder rest, 4 bows and plenty of music.   Low Quality

  I was shopping for cases online and I found that most of them cost $100 and up, which I was not too happy about. Although there were no other reviews, I took a risk and bought this case. I was not happy with what I bought. It says 15.5"-17" which lead me to believe it would safely contain my 16.5" viola. The case is shaped to a 17" so my instrument moved around quite a lot. So if you are like most people and don't own a 17" viola, your instrument will move around too. Also, there is virtually no padding, just fabric rapped around hard material. Moreover, the ribbons behind the bow holder were flimsy and about to fall off, and the compartment barely squeezed in my shoulder rest. The only positive aspect of this case is that it is very lightweight and the interior color is nice. I returned the case after I bought it. I would only recommend buying this case if you don't care about your viola or just storing it in an attic.
